Scans from the latest Japanese magazines have begun to circulate online - and in an exciting twist, this latest batch of hobby magazines contains our very first look at Masterpiece Star Saber!
This magazine scan shows Masterpiece Star Saber in both robot and spaceship mode. In robot mode, he comes armed with his Saber Blade, and it is evident from this image he's already got the original Star Saber outdone for poseability. What's more, the magazine scan shows that the smaller jet / robot Transformer who forms the core of Star Saber, Saber, is also included and looks very sharp.
This makes Star Saber the first Masterpiece Transformer to feature the longstanding Transformer gimmick of "smaller transforming robot who combines with a trailer to form a super robot" and he appears to do it extremely well. The innermost robot figure in this Transformers series of Russian dolls, the core Brainmaster, is discussed in the accompanying text but is not yet confirmed, though we'd imagine it will be included since it was a key feature of the original.
Check out the latest scan which comes via
