Yet another 3D printed action figure.
Her clothes weren't much of a challenge to model in 3D which made me feel like she had been a smart choice as a custom, at least until I got to those tattoos... not fun.
The tattoos were all modelled in in 3D as a soft relief to make it easier to trace them accurately later, both times, they were not fun to do. I used a marker to trace them on the figure while looking at my reference on screen. Even tho they were marked in the print, they were still rather confusing to trace. Thankfully there were no accidents which is a rare occurrence in itself.
She was printed in red plastic but I decided to still give her a coat of red paint, as I like the finish of the paint better than that of the material itself.
The red plastic had its own challenges. I never printed anything in color before and it turns out that not only is red harder to cover with paint, but the dyeing process shapeways uses on the material, converts all the residual dust from printing into clumps, making it a lot harder to clean out.
I printed a handful of lightsabers too, her own and some other regular ones, plus some double sided sabers. Her belt has a clip to attach one of the sabers.
The heels made her taller than expected and the Star Wars 6 inch line is rather on the short side, so there's that.
She was painted with acrylics and sealed with Krylon, after that I used a shinier brush on finish on the leather to make it pop again a bit more.
Hope you like her.
