Jaws isn't real, a great white that large would never come as close to shore as it did in that movie. Also at the beginning when it makes its first kill, which is one of the coolest/scariest parts of the film, sharks don't thrash their food and run laps with it in their mouth. Sharks just bite into whatever it is they're eating and pull down. It's a great movie and I really like it, but it's not the most realistic of all.

Jaws was based on real shark attack that happen in the 60's on the Jersey Shore.
