Trick r Treat - This movie just flat out rocks!! It has a great set of stories and an interesting way of telling them. The characters have little development, but the movie knows what it wants to be and what it wants to do that you really forget all about it. I really enjoyed Trick R Treat, but after listening to the opinion and reviews of so many of my friends, I was honestly expecting more. In their opinions, it was one of the top five, if not the best, horror flick of the 2000's. I enjoyed it enough to add it to my small, and highly-selective, collection of horror Blu-Rays, but I wasn't completely floored by it like they were. But then again, I'm sure that if I were a bigger horror fan, I would have appreciated it on a completely different level.

Conversely, while I really enjoyed Cabin in the Woods, my friends all claimed that I built it up so much that they all felt disappointed by it after finally seeing it. Even after multiple viewings, they still mostly agree that it is somewhat overrated, while I think it's great. They are all educated and informed viewers, so they appreciate the deconstructionist approach taken in the movie, but they mostly agree that it was too humorous, and not nearly scary or suspenseful enough to even be classified as a true horror movie.
