Here is one of my latest customs. Alex Ross Style Shazam in 4 inch scale. I based this figures on his appearance from Kingdom Come. I loved the book and also loved what they did with him in the prequel 'Justice' books too. I based the suit and boots on his KC appearance but his face more on the prequel version. He is made using mainly Marvel Universe parts:
Head: MU Ages of Thunder Thor
Body: MU Modern Thor
Arms: MU Modern Thor
Hands: Angel Forge Wolverine
Legs: Mu Gladiator
Cape: Moon Knight
Disc on Cape: MU Ages of Thunder Cape
Belt Sash: MU Doctor Strange
Rope On Cape: GI Joe Retaliation Cobra Commander
The figures is pretty much entirely sculpted. Everything apart from the feet has been sculpted and reworked in some way. The arms were the chain mail armour of Thor, but in the WIP the shoulders are sculpted and painted because I did that before I put the figure together. Sculpted, painted and sealed with superglue to help avoid paint rub in the shoulder joint.
The head has to have the hair piece removed, then I sculpted him bald, then sculpted his hair on, then his ears, and also reworked his chin to include the famous Shazam chin dimple.
Overall I'm really pleased with him. Anyone who sculpts Shazam emblems will know its hard to get it so you are satisfied with it, but I'm happy with how his symbol came out.
This is the first in what's going to be a 'DC select' type custom series for me, where I make heroes from a particular art style or comic appearance to start creating my comic book justice league.
