Thanks for the information on self-checkout. I never see any employees in the vicinity of those lanes when I've shopped at my local Wal-Mart so I've never given any thought to using them.
@Trivial Psychic: Even though I have a very large distaste for American corporations like Wal-Mart I would never
EVER
entertain the thought of walking out of any retail store that I choose to patronize... be it Wal-Mart, Target, Toys R Us, whatever... with unpaid merchandise. I'm fully aware that computer glitches can and do happen. The gripe that I had in this particular instance was the manager's resolution to the issue and I feel it was handled very poorly.
It does no good to complain to the top of the food chain. As I stated previously, corporations like Wal-Mart don't care. For every customer lost, there are hundreds upon hundreds lined up to take their place. Their sole purpose in this life is to make money and if they lose a customer or two along the way, oh well... life goes on.
