We've got an early Christmas treat to share with you, in the form of a gallery of one of the new glorious Combiner Wars Transformers! First up is
Skydive
of the Aerialbots - one of the Wave 1 Deluxe Combiner Wars toys, who can form either an arm or a leg for a larger gestalt.
Skydive sticks close to his Generation 1 predecessor with this updated toy, right down to the general transformation - though there is some clever "scissoring" of the legs when going between jet and robot modes. The general transformation is shared with the other Aerialbots. It's simple yet effective - my only critique is that the arms do not really tuck away. However, the robot mode is solid, and there are not too many sacrifices made for the sake of combining. The deco is good, though personally I'd liked to have seen the thunderbolt details of the original retained - the gold stripes do not have the same amount of punch, in my view.
Overall, Skydive is a solid toy, as are his fellow Aerialbots, who we hope to share galleries of in the coming days. Check out Skydive in our new Combiner Wars galleries section below and see what you think of this cool addition to the Autobot air force!
