Thanks on the congrats...I was kind of surprised that I ran into him at all, with him being the only new figure on the peg no less.
I wasn't initially thrilled with this guy being released, but once I picked up the Shadowtrooper set from Target, I kinda penciled him in as a must get, since his armor works so well with the Shadowtroopers. The first thing I did when I picked that set up was to pull the scout trooper off the bike, give him the black pauldron from my sandtrooper and slip a sniper rifle into his hands. With reactive armor that allows him to blend into his environment like the Predator, it seemed a waste keeping the sniper posted on the back of a bike.
Now this TIE fighter pilot sits comfortably on the black speeder bike, which looks really awesome and hilarious at the same time, since the TIE pilot's helmet is essentially a base stormtrooper helmet with a sort of bigger helmet on top. It gives it a pretty awesome look that makes sense, while giving it an almost comical "safety first" look as well. Not including a smaller pistol is kind of a bummer, but at least Hasbro was kind enough to give him a holster for his standard issue blaster for weapon storage while he rides his new speeder, so no complaints there at all.
All in all, the point is...wasn't thrilled with the character choice, but I'm loving the purchase. =)
