I don't think it's that so much as that the Rainbow Batman set is a fun, whimsical, Silver Age artifact. I'm an avid 1:18 scale collector and customizer. I'm also a Batman collector. I voted for the Rainbow Batman set because it's a fun story and they'd pop on my shelves. I will never vote for more 3.75" DCC figures because the Green Lantern and Injustice figures were all awful. The sculpts were poor, the paint worse, and the quality control even more so. The fact that these are New52 just adds more negative to them. I'd much rather have the Rainbow Batman set so I voted for it and will continue to vote for it.
I've seen plenty of DCC stuff shelf/peg warm at my LCS. I've picked some of it up on clearance. I picked up the Injustice Black Adam/Aquaman 2 pack on clearance for $12 at my LCS. Who knows maybe Granny Goodness would be a hot item, I just know I would pass on it.
As for the Rainbow Batman, I'm sure it has it's fans. I know my son would want them but I would pass. I actually like the 3.75" Injustice figures. I have been lucky in the quality department so far, no real breakage or quality issues. I really like the Joker/Batman 2 pack, it's been a breath of fresh air with the 5 POA 1/18 stuff at retail. To each their own. If you wanna vote for the Rainbow Batmen far be it from me to judge. I just want some well sculpted, well painted, well articulated 3.75" DC (or Marvel) action figures.
