As the title says, this is my first ever custom. In fact, it is pretty much the first time I have ever painted anything. I decided to take it slow for my first attempt and just repaint a figure straight from the package. This worked out great since I wanted to paint up my extra GotG wave Nova as a Green Lantern, effectively creating an amalgamation of two of my favorite characters.
I have not gotten up the nerve to try sculpting yet so he is missing any Lantern emblems or a Lantern ring. Maybe once I am more comfortable with everything I will go back and make some revisions.
The forumla:
Marvel Legends GotG wave Nova base figure
Flat Black base coat over everything but the skin tone
Gloss Black for the black pieces
(I wanted semi-gloss but nobody around me carries it. Definitely ordering online in the future)
Silver for the armor pieces and beneath the green pieces
Clear Green over the silver for the green pieces
It definitely has some flaws and I need to invest in a better photo setup for the future but I could not be happier with my first attempt.
I also have to give huge thanks to ACCUSTOMFIGS. AC was awesome enough to let me run the idea past him a few months back. He gave me some great pointers and helped me nail down the paint choices. The figure never would have turned out this well without his help. Thanks again AC!
Thanks for taking the time to look. I appreciate any feedback.
