So you want realism, then Hot toys is your best bet , the japanese import toys are your second choice. Either way you will be spending alot of $$$ , I suggest holding off every 2-3 months since your budget is 50-100 , then start off with your first purchase of Hot toys building up your collection. Since you dont want the "normal" walmart , toy r us toys (we actually call these "toys" , retail action figures ) then youre gonna miss out on a lot of different Marvel/DC characters, to me thats important if I am a huge fan of both Marvel/DC. With Hot toys you get realsim but LIMITED character selection, with the "normal toys" you get LIMITED realism (but to tell you the truth the sculpts are getting much better and they look very close to what they look like in the comics/movies where they are based at, the realism you get with Hot Toys is actual clothing and hair for the female charcaters) but in exchange you'll get hundreds of character selections.
