Despite the name of the statue, this look reminds me more of the late 70's to early 80's Batman. The long ears on his cowl, the yellow oval surrounding the bat emblem, the blue hues, and the capsule laden utility belt all point to the Bronze Age Batman. Am I right? I'm not the biggest fan of the Bat, but almost any earnest comic book fan has at least some interest in Batman.
When I look at this statue, I think of Neal Adams and Walter Simonson. Not because it resembles their individual styles of art, but because the sculpt seems to take on the look they created for Batman.
This is a beaut of a statue regardless of the era they were trying to capture. I like Batman's black threads, but THIS is the Batman I remember as kid...striking abject terror into punks and jettisoning teeth from jaws of thugs with colossal punches and kicks. Haha! I used to really get a kick at how criminals would scream (not yell, but scream) his name when Batman showed up...I know ne'er-do-wells generally do that at the appearance of any hero, but with Batman...it seemed like genuine horror!
