You're generally expected to purchase books, prints and sketches on-site, yes? Otherwise, I could easily imagine someone showing up with boxes of old stuff from their collection, expecting to get the whole shebang signed.
Not really. All of those I had autographed, I brought in. In fact, Justin Ponsor and Jimmy Palmiotti were so happy I was a fan of their work and bought books they did stuff in that they signed my stuff for free. Neal Adams was the only guy that charged me $30 to autograph my book. The worst part was though, I have been wanting to go to this convention for four years now to meet Neal and he turned out to be a douche bag.
Not because he charged me for the autograph, I have nothing against that, but because how he was unhappy to hear that I did not want his Batman Odyssey book.
I had also brought in some books to get Tim Sale to sign, but we left before he was willing to do autographs.
