G. I. Joe: Strike
Mobile Game by
Backflip Studios
. Now, the studio has hinted that they are in development of mobile games based on other famous Hasbro properties including
Transformers
.
Back in 2013
Hasbro
acquired this famous Mobile Game Development Company and Hasbro CEO
Brian Goldner
announced to the Hasbro Investors that the game studio is now in development of several games based on Hasbro IPs, during past financial calls. Pretty soon games based on
Nerf
and G. I. Joe franchises arrived to mobile devices.
Following the Soft Launch of G. I. Joe: Strike on the Android Platform last month and the expansion of their famous game;
DragonVale
, Backflip Studios spoke to the media last week and stated:
"We plan on supporting DragonVale for a long time. Thanks to our arrangement with Hasbro, we plan on working with smaller but proven studios to bring their IP to life without stretching our core resources that focus on the DragonVale brand. Expect to see many of Hasbro's favorite brands in mobile very soon!"
February last year, the
company first hinted
that they are in development of several games for Hasbro. Back then, Transformers, G. I. Joe and
Monopoly
were announced as planned games. One of the three games is already out with the other two possibly down the pipeline.
"Backflip will also marry the brands at Hasbro with the short-duration games and use them as user acquisition tools. Backflip emphasizes its experience in mobile, game design, monetization, and marketing. About half of the company’s*internal games will be on original ideas while the rest*will be on Hasbro brands. (These include big names such as Monopoly, Transformers, and G.I. Joe.)"
Hasbro's Transformers Mobile Games have seen an increase in popularity among fans, general public and critics recently and we are now waiting for this new mobile game by Backflip Studios. The game company has delivered some amazing games in the past with loyal following. We wish them the best.
What do you think the game might be? Will it be an Action game? Puzzle game? Or something else? Let us know your thoughts at the Video Game Discussions forum at TFW2005. You can also learn more about Backflip Studios from
