With that being only a couple of months away, I'm curious as to why Hasbro is still keeping figures of the cast of The Force Awakens tightly under wraps.

I read elsewhere that Lucasfilm is deliberately keeping a tight lid on product releases so as to integrate new product announcements into the overall communications plan, thus controlling flow of information and preventing unwanted spoilers. Makes sense, but sounds like a big job, with so many licences and manufacturers involved.
Yeah,I'm kind of flat-out amazed at how well Disney's kept this stuff under wraps in the digital age. There was the one super-brief leak of the prototype sculpts, and the release of the different assortment names from retailer computer listings, and...that's about it. We don't even know if they're doing traditionally-articulated 3.75" figures. It's kind of cool in an old-school sort of way, but by the same token it's making it hard to budget/plan when you don't know what a lot of the product is/looks like!
There's a D23 Expo in mid-August (basically the Disney convention) but that's not a place they traditionally do toy reveals. So either they're releasing stuff via other media or they really are keeping this stuff hidden until release.
It's funny though, they say it's to avoid spoilers...but all those spoilers will be out there as soon as the stuff is released nearly three months ahead of the movie.
