For those that still don’t know, Valiant Comics from the 90’s is back! In just 3 years since the relaunch of the entire publishing line Valiant has established the 3rd largest shared universe in comics, re-established successful ongoing series for all of their most popular characters, and solidified a deal with SONY Pictures to develop their comic properties into movies, beginning with Bloodshot and Harbinger in 2017.
Following in the Valiant tradition of creating interesting and deep characters, Divinity is the first original character created in the new Valiant re-launch to get his own solo title. Divinity is a Russian cosmonaut named Abram Adams who, during the Cold War of the 1960’s, is taken over by a cosmic entity only to return to earth decades later and with the powers of a god.
I was a huge Valiant fan as a kid in the 90’s, and even bigger with the current relaunch. Divinity is not only one of my favorite characters in the Valiant Universe, but also that of Valiant CEO/CCO Dinesh Shamdasani’s. And that is for whom I made this figure for. Valiant is the most hands on publisher in the comic business, and Dinesh definitely puts the fans first. This was one of the harder jobs I’ve done, but very rewarding and a great challenge. Definitely some of my best work. Thanks D-Rock! Enjoy!
Divinity was made from a ML Fantomex base, ML Red Skull boots, ML Bullseye arms, ML Pyro backpack with extra hoses, some fodder, and the entire suit was sculpted in several layers. Finished with a divine paint job!
