Hey Joe, good catch that NECA based this on their original T-800 figure...I noticed that right away when the first preview pics were released. But other than the exposed elbow pegs (which really aren't that noticeable, is it's black-on-black), the figure totally holds up to modern standards, which is amazing, since the base figure was released back in 2009. I have the original Cyberdyne Showdown figure and the paint apps are even better on the new figure.

You're referring to the mid-thigh swivel, yes? That's actually a holdover from the previous version of this figure...the original T-800 figure this is based on had that thigh swivel and swivel ankles (and that's it). The fact that they actually went back and added hips, knees, and ball-jointed ankles and kept the joints as disguised as they did was amazing, and your review was 100% correct- this figure stands so beautifully and solidly that there's zero need for a figure stand at all.
The added heads and weapons make this a fantastic value for your money, as you can re-create NECA's Cyberdyne Showdown, T2 3D: Battle Across Time, and Steel Mill figures (a great thing since 99% of those figures on ebay are shitty Hong Kong counterfeits, with legit ones costing a fortune). It's a great modern update to a great figure.
I hope the rumors are true that they're fixing to do the same treatment with the T1 T-800. I know he has two distinct looks in that movie, but if they're only going to do one of them, it should be the Police Station Assault figure, as that's his most iconic look from the movie with the Gargoyle shades and all (I hope they include the .45 Longslide just for the hell of it, even though he didn't have it by that point in the movie).

By "two looks" for Kyle I hope you're referring to his future Tech-Com uniform and not "Naked Kyle." *eep*
Incidentally, am I the only person who noticed that Kyle spends the entire movie running around in sweat/pee/whoknowswhatelse-stained bum pants without so much as a pair of underwear to shield his nether regions? That makes the love scene with Sarah pretty f'in gross when you think about it...

Nope...sadly, that's the rule as opposed to the exception. I bought more than one of these and the minigun was ruined in each and every one of them. And on top of bent barrels both handles on each one were squashed almost beyond recognition. This wasn't an issue with the original Cyberdyne Showdown figure (luckily, I still had that minigun/ammo bag to use instead). NECA needs to learn how to package accessories like this in such a way that they're not damaged like this. But otherwise, that's my only complaint about this figure.
