Well I was at my local comic store picking up my comics from the last two months and came across the Icons stuff. They didn't have Green Arrow, which sucked since I wanted him the most, but I did pick up Mr Miracle because he actually looked pretty cool in person despite not being Kirby's original design. In fact, Deadman looked great as well. Batman was cool, but I'm going to probably just hold out for DC to do a Neal Adams one.
Anyway, my thoughts? I'm slightly whelmed. To be honest, for $27 I expected a lot more. I like him, but there are areas of improvement, specifically in the waist and chest area. He has no waist swivel, which sucks, but it could have been less noticeable if the chest rotation actually worked. The upper torso is just on way too tight around the joint, making it nearly impossible to rotate it. Also, the lack of any type of swivel on the legs really hurts his posing as well. Oh, and I've already made my lament about the size. On the positive side, the paint apps are fantastic and I love that he comes with a mother box and a set of open hands. Really allows him to be posed with more life than the Mattel one. Also, he is actually in scale with Barda, which is nice. The cape is perfect in its softness.
Overall though, like I said for $27, I'm not sure how I feel about him. He would have been perfect at $20 despite his short comings with the articulation. I do hope DC will one day go back and do a Kirby version of him though, but for the first figure, I do like him. In some ways, I already like him better than the Mattel one. I'm still going to get Green Arrow and Flash however and let the trio decide my future with his line.
