Aside from my childhood love of the X-Men, and my adult-era fanatical love of the Fantastic Four, I've never been much of a Marvel fan. However, I really really enjoyed Ultimates #1. I've talked to a few buddies who are big Avengers fans, and they mostly have positive opinions about Al Ewings' writing, so I'm optimistic that the book will continue to impress me.
I actually liked issue #1 so much, that I decided to track down some back issues of Adam: Legend of the Blue Marvel, and I've really enjoyed what I've read so far. Also, eventually, I think I may pick up some issues of Ewing's Mighty Avengers arcs as well.
I honestly can't remember the last time I was so eager to delve into the Marvel Universe, and after you mentioned it, I began to consider signing up for Marvel Unlimited too.
