You are talking about Mattel. That finish is an improvement for them. After all, they had a perfect line in DCIH and ended it without any legitimate reason whatsoever. They screwed up the scale for GL and YJ, mind you most of the GL figures are aliens so still work anyway.
Now what I would do is have the core line like DCIH was, then when the GL movie comes out have a GL sub line fully compatible with the core line but with their own logo, and same for the Batman movie, Superman movie, Flash series, Arrow series, Supergirl series, etc...., each heavy in focus on the characters associated with it.
But obviously nobody at Mattel is smart enough to figure that out. No wonder Hasbro is catching up to them.
