That's a tough one to answer.
For one, I don't think any of your arguments have ever been a deciding factor for me.
Pricing has always been a funny thing. I've only ever been able to get ML's through online stores. If anything, the difference cost-wise between US collectors and me for both shipping and the prices of the actual items have crept closer and closer together.
Always made me laugh/cry when people said: Remember when you could buy Toy Biz ML's for a nickel an a used piece of gum?!? Because they were never available to me for less than $25,-
As far as articulation goes, in general, female ML's tend to have a lot of the same problems regarding hair, elbows and torso. So, in my opinion, do almost all Iron Man and Warmachine ML's and almost every character bigger than the Hyperion mold. Remember when someone thought it was a good idea for ankles not to move...
Glad that is a thing of the past.
As far as why I buy a certain (or any) ML. Because I like the character. Easy as that. That's why, even though I think Ultimate Beetle, Morbius, Scourge and most of the MCU figures look great, they will never be a part of my collection.
That's why my request for more female figures will always be character driven. I need to complete certain stories or memories.
