The ONLY reason she beat Kylo Ren on Starkiller Base is because Kylo Ren was emotionally disturbed and conflicted after killing his father and for some reason, finally tapping into the Force allows for feats of unprecedented skill, ie. becoming the first human to win a pod race or hitting a two meter wide exhaust port without computer aid. If you consider Rey a "Mary Sue", then you must do the same for Anakin and Luke Skywalker.
