I thought I'd throw in my two cents about the state of the line. Many of you probably don't remember me, but check out my collection thread. I have been in this game since the first figure of the first wave of MU hit the shelves. I've seen it all.
So on to Infinite and then Legends. The big negative is of course the steps back in articulation which does of course suck. Less accessories is also not awesome.
There are however four things that make me very happy about the current state of things:
1. Character Selection - We are getting an amazing number of new characters in figure form. And even when we get another Spider-Man Captain America, or Ironman it is usually a different outfit or take on the character than we have had before.
2. Paint Aps - Is it just me or has the quality of the painting on these figs gone way up? I am kind of a stickler on finding figures where the paint isn't wonky. It's been a long time since I've had to settle on this front.
3. Distribution - From the 2nd to last wave of Infinite to now I have seen every single figure at retail. There used to be entire waves that would simply never even show up in stores. It used to be that if you didn't order online you were rolling the dice.
4. Comic Packs are back!
So just my opinion, but I am very happy with where the line is and where it seems to be headed.
First of all, I'd like to say, your collection is amazing.
Now, I totally agree with you. I was actually kind of surprised about the negative talk we were getting about the the line in its current state. I mean, we're certainly not back to the glory days of the MU line but you can't deny that there's been serious improvement on the line. Your post covers it all.
