I'm not disagreeing with anything you say, other than were you place the blame. I too started off really enjoying season four and it seemed like the writers had learnt from the previous season and then it all went to hell.



But she isn't. She is an excellent character, who was raised from a guest star to regular to main cast off the back of her actress' excellent performance and her popularity. She was also terribly badly written in season four, and killing her isn't going to change that fundamental problem with the show.

If she continues to be this annoying through season 5 I do hope she gets killed off! I don't see where you get from Me saying I wish felicity would get killed to you interpreting that as we want all female characters to be killed off.
