Meanwhile, the 4 inch line suddenly had between 2 and 4 accessories in every (now resealable) box, better artic, and BAF parts so you could create your own figures - and a price drop to $10. How do you think Legends collectors would react, and do you think the suggestion that maybe one line was being squeezed to pay for improvements in the other might just be a valid one?
I hate to say it, but THIS.

I spoke to a Hasbro rep at a convention once, two or so years back, about how shitty the Star Wars and Marvel 4" lines had gotten- I had done so, politely, mind. "The collector's have gone to the 6 inch scale." was the rather 'eff you' toned response I received. I showed her the collection pics I had on my phone, and said I was one of thousands who helped BUILD modern Hasbro on their 4" SW figures from when they took over Kenner, as well as the modern Joes AND WHEN THEY TOOK OVER THE MARVEL LICENSE and introduced the Universe line, to begin with.

I stated to her that it was hardly a 'difficult jump' for some, as with over-saturation of mainstream characters, terrible distribution, lack of marketing, poor character choice, paint and quality control issues, and constant re-branding and a severe dip in line management and care, it was rather easy for many to suddenly take up this other line that was readily available, held no diminished quality, had a larger breadth of characters (at the time) and actually gained NEW PRODUCT AT DECENT INTERVALS and that ACTUALLY SHOWED UP IN THE ****ING STORES, keeping us from HAVING TO PAY TO SH*T SCALPERS ON EBAY JUST TO SEE SOMETHING NEW AFTER SEVEN MONTHS!!!

If someone wishes to say the Marvel Legends line took off, yeah, it did. But don't think, or say, that us 4" fans did anything wrong to cause that, and you sure as heck can't say Hasbro was doing everything they could at the time for the 4" Marvel figures. I'm a very patient and understanding person, and I look on with silent jealousy whenever 6" gets Hellcat, or White Tiger, or Purple Man, or Agent 13, or Dormammu, or Misty Knight, but when 4" gets ANAD Wolverine, or Falcon Cap (neither of which I personally want), but when I see posters here, or the writers of Marvel Toy News, or whatever commentator spout 'Oh, it's for the sh***y 4" line' or 'who cares, should just be 6"', '4" should die,' etc., it feels like we're part of some crazy toy bigotry, and I thought- I would have hoped- the collector community would have been above that.

Either way, really tired of those with the steak on their plates complaining about us stuck with soup get the occasional fancy spoon. Crap metaphor, but you get the point.

And not singling anyone out here, but you have all surely seen what I refer to.
