Well, you could set up a portable air cleaner, such as the Oreck ("as seen on TV") or any brand that contains a HEPA filter. Ask about them at any hardware store. They're frequently used by people who suffer from allergies or other respiratory conditions or a weak immune system. One side benefit is dramatic reduction in household dust.

This seems like an extreme solution for ordinary collections. More generally, if you're a good housekeeper, vacuuming regularly with a decent vacuum (and replacing the vacuum filter regularly) and keeping your home clean generally, dust shouldn't be much of a problem, but if it is, one would think that simple manual dusting ought to be sufficient.

Obviously, if your collection warrants special consideration in this regard (mine doesn't), then you probably also give some thought to display and storage in some way that involves a closed, clean space with still air.
