The one that can be seen in the packaged shots is a completely new sculpt and is far more accurate to the original film. I sincerely hope that is the one we're getting, because the mask was easily the weakest part of the original release. I'm also hoping that some of the legacy issues from the previous Ultimate Jason figure are fixed, as the loose hips and head joints were a bit of a let down to what should have been one of NECA's best Ultimate figures.

Really looking forward to this one, as it could not come at a better time. I recently had to move, and my battle damaged version of Jason from Part 3 had a leg snap right off the hip during the move. Since this Ultimate Jason is blood soaked, he'll make a perfect replacement for a fraction of the cost.

I was also noticing the different looking masks, the in-box one is much better looking.

The loose hips and necks on the Jason Lives Jason were a bit of a let down but the silver lining is that they don't hurt the figure's ability to stand or maintain poses, they just make it more annoying to get the poses.
