The one that can be seen in the packaged shots is a completely new sculpt and is far more accurate to the original film. I sincerely hope that is the one we're getting, because the mask was easily the weakest part of the original release. I'm also hoping that some of the legacy issues from the previous Ultimate Jason figure are fixed, as the loose hips and head joints were a bit of a let down to what should have been one of NECA's best Ultimate figures.

Really looking forward to this one, as it could not come at a better time. I recently had to move, and my battle damaged version of Jason from Part 3 had a leg snap right off the hip during the move. Since this Ultimate Jason is blood soaked, he'll make a perfect replacement for a fraction of the cost.

I couldn't agree more. I feel the same about the mask. The one in the box looks way better! I hope that the figure was delayed to correct the mask. NECA has made last minute changes before, such as the 1954 Godzilla. I just bought Jason on Amazon, the mask will either make or break this one for me. I have both the regular and battle damaged so this one has a lot to live up too.
