CARTOON TURTLES? Neca hasn't done them yet
While NECA does use a softer plastic I've never had any figures where I'd call the joints rubbery as where Hasbro definitely has had some very gummy joints in different figures lately (specifically knee and elbow joints on some Marvel Legends). I have to imagine NECA's decision to use this softer, more fragile plastic is ultimately a costs issue. I'd guess that if NECA used hardier plastic like Hasbro/Mattel usually does and still kept their level of sculpting then their figures would cost more and they'd lose some customers over it. Additionally it seems most of the NECA crowd, myself included, are display-only guys who find a pose and may occasionally switch it up to new poses but generally leave the figures on shelf. As a side thought I wonder if McFarlane is to blame for this behavior as his figures back in the day gave us little to no choice for display options. From what I've seen SH wants to cater to a broader range of collector types and are often willing to sacrifice some aesthetic attributes in favor of functionality.
