I'm wondering maybe if it's a running change, kinda like Shipwreck's tattoo in the 25th Anniversary Joe line. The first run of the figures had a shark tattoo on his arm and when the version with the anchor tattoo started showing up, everyone thought that the anchor was a variant...turns out the shark version was harder to find of the two as all of them had the anchor tattoo after that, and the shark tattoo was only available during the initial spottings of that wave.

I think it's cool that they have the Skrull scrip on the stand, but I can't see that being the standard. It's a cool little Easter Egg for the fanboys but the masses aren't going to get it. This is PURE SPECULATION but...I'm thinking maybe the initial run had the Skrull language on it and after that they will have all English lettering. This is just, however, my thoughts on it after having a bit of time to think about it and look at Hasbro behavior with other lines I collect. That, and I have the Skrull version so I would very much like that one to be the variant
