My Walmart finally clearanced the Cap wave more than just a few bucks off so I finally decided to suck it up and build Onslaught instead of waiting to say if he'll ever be reasonable on eBay. It wasn't as cheap as it would be if any of my Gamestops had the wave but they just had the Allfather and Dormammu waves, still I got all 7 figures and of course Onslaught for $90 so that is certainly not bad.
I am very pleased with Onslaught himself. The articulation is admittedly limited in just about every category but his stature and presence are very redeeming for me. Onslaught's not a guy that gets that much attention (for legitimate reasons, despite being a "cool" villain he's very shallow and generally overpowered) so I'm actually pretty thrilled to finally have a figure of him.
As for the seven it took to make this happen my feelings are more mixed but ultimately positive. Cottonmouth is a toy that I never wanted and still don't really care for but he is actually solid as a toy and I like having heroes kick him around. Whirlwind is solid but while I like his colors a more shiny/metallic green (like his MU figure) would've been preferred. Scourge is good all around and I had fun imagining he was Solid Snake sneaking through Shadow Moses as I posed him but his design is kinda generic, almost like he's just a goon. Sharon is easily the weakest figure but at the same time she's not terrible so there's that, I wish they had just given her flat feet instead of heels and her space-gun looks stupid to me. Captain America is well done and I like finally having a classic Cap in this scale but some of his paint is sloppy/smeary and his straight hand's fingers are crazy thin. Mockingbird is fine but if I didn't already like her character I'd have to say she's unremarkable. Finally Kitty is actually a figure I was thinking about picking up on her own just because it's her but now I finally had an excuse to actually make the purchase.
