All right, so the new X-Men wave is pretty cool, but not perfect.

Dazzler - She is probably my favorite of the wave. I just love everything about her from the really nice paint apps right down to the detail on the skates. Not to mention her entire sculpt is really unique amoung the figures as a whole. I do wish she came with an alternate open right hand of her own because as great as it is to use Rogue's hand, the peg is about a mm bigger, so it stretches the wrist hole if on for too long. Nevertheless, this figure rocks!

Polaris - The green colors really pop and make her stand out, but she is far from issues. The cape is way too rubbery to stay in the peg hold, so it loves to just fall out. Also, the green above the thigh swivels are a different shade from the rest of her legs, so it can look odd depending on how you have things lit up.

Shatterstar - This dude is just awesome all around. Just like with Dazzler, the white ends up popping a lot more than I expected. The grays and browns also help add to him. My only nitpick is that I wish his hair wasn't so rubery and that the pony tail could rotate. That aside, no issues here. He also looks great in nearly any pose.

Sunfire - Oh how nice it is to really enjoy this guy this time. He's on the Spidey 2099 body, which has a great use of butterfly joints. On the negative side though, his shoulders look really weird if you were put him into a static standing straight up pose. The joints on this guy are really nice and tight and the paint apps are outstanding. Plus, I love that they gave him his original look (although, I do believe his gloves were yellow initially). The fire effects are pretty sweet too despite one of them not locking into the fist all that well. It is a shame they didn't give him an unmasked head though.

Colossus - I like this guy A LOT more than I thought I would. Or rather, I like the design more than I expected. Sure, I would rather have his classic design, but until Hasbro does that version, this is a solid figure all around. He is huge and the sculpted details for his armor are impressive. The lines are actually sculpted into the arms rather than just being painted. The bearded head to me is just down right laughable, but hey, at least it's an accessory. The only negative is due to his gauntlets, you can't really rotate his hands. There's no way in hell Hasbro is going to let this be the only time we see a Colossus figure with the amount of work they put into this guy.

Cyclops - OH boy, where do I begin? Okay, he's not that bad of a figure. The paint apps are great and the head sculpt is superb. The problem with this figure comes down to laziness. The buckle things on his boots, legs, and wrists are just pieces fitted around the sculpt, and as such, they are constantly moving around, especially the ones on the legs which love to slide down. I can usually get them locked on so they don't slide, but it only lasts until I pose him. It's a major pain in the ass. There is no reason why Hasbro couldn't have at least given him new boots. Also, the harness/belt/thing around his body is a tad too big, so it doesn't rest on his body like it should. Lastly, an alternate hand would have been welcomed since it does look weird to have him with a hand that has two fingers pointed outward. Although I guess it would be worse, he could have just had a fist without being able to have a visor pressing hand.

Warlock - Like Cyclops, this figure is slightly frustrating. The sculpt, the paint job, everything about him is wonderful. However, his legs are really heavy, so the waist joints seem very loose. Also, it seems like he only has ratchet joints in half of his upper elbow joint, so his arms just flop downward if you don't have them set at at least a 90 degree angle. I'm not sure if Hasbro did this on purpose due to the wires that connect from the arms to his back (think 90s Apocalypse Toy Biz toys) or if that is an unintentional design flaw, but it can get quite annoying when his arms just drop. I love the details in his hair though, especially on the backside. Warlock may never be one of my favorite X-Men characters, but he is a solid Build-a-Figure all around.

In the end, it is disappoint that Hasbro did not give us any villains, but I love what I got even with their flaws. I just hope they give us more multi-packs after Cyclops/Dark Phoenix to sate our mutant thirsts while we wait for next year's wave. Here's hoping for a Magneto/Prof X two pack later on this year (hell, most of the work is done, they just need to sculpt new heads and hopefully a new cape for Magneto).

With that said, enjoy the pictures below:
