When Marvel Legends dwindled a few years ago, Hasbro really focused on their 3.75" Marvel Universe line to improve the sculpts and articulation. In fact, that's where the ankle pivot joint was first introduced. So when ML returned, Hasbro began churning out great figures. The first few waves were a mix of old and new but the new began to replace the old very quickly. Mattel on the other hand canceled DCUC, started the 3.75" DC Multiverse line, but never worked to improve anything. So when DC Multiverse changed back to 6", it was more of the same.
Interesting. How could they improve with 3.75" figs? They're much smaller, so wouldn't it be more difficult?
Mattel just doesn't care about its consumers mostly. MattyCollector was an awful idea, and prices were always jacked up for figures with one new part and no accessories (movie masters....). Castle Greyskull took forever to be made, and the Ecto-1 never even saw the light of day after 5 years of people waiting. And I've seen vids of their representative who shows off things from MattyCollector and they just don't care at all. The guy would get mad when the interviewer would ask reasonable questions.
