Scalpers (at least in the world of figure collecting) don't buy one figure and sit on it until it's worth something, they intentionally create a 'shortage' of a figure in order to sell said figure at an artificially inflated price. Either way, the one who buys and thinks it might be worth more down the line is no less of a 'true collector' than anyone else - they just have different motivations. Just like mint-in-package collectors are just as valid as loose collectors. It's only when they're buying to benefit themselves at the cost of others that it's worth deriding.



I never snagged the Darkstalkers, though I do currently have a Toy Biz MvC Morrigan I'm trying to sell off I did have a bunch of the Resident Evil figures for a while - pretty much all of them, except for Mr. X and the Hunk/Zombie two-pack. I love how they advertised them all as having 'authentic video game actions,' which was true - all four of the main heroes had clunky, slow-moving and inaccurate aiming gimmicks, just like in the games!

Thankfully WITHOUT the cornball d-movie dialog.
