We're due.... the COLLECTOR set was cool, had its ups and downs;overall honourable mention. (It was really only one figure after all)
Then the joy that was the Ant-Man set. Sort of ambiguous set even for 6" collectors as the only figure out scale was a repack with sleeves for a lab coat look and a spare head that is overused already.
So either this year will be epic again, or perhaps more of a let down? Hope it is cool and BIG what ever they have cooking. Wouldn't be surprised if it were either Spider-Man or an absolute random curveball set/team.
Or, there could always be the chance that maybe this year it just simply does not show at all with an exclusive. I mean the 3.75" display hasn't been there for 2 years now. That was the pinnacle of our MU (if only they were still THAT name in build, quality, affordability and widely distributed) BIG sets, BIG news, BIG display.... #GloryDays
There is also the option of just being something small. Like the WW2 Captain America and then the Thor figures early on. Maybe it is just the highly articulated Spider-Man and Shocker. Like they showed us Lockjaw one year earlier and drop him in a set.
I would welcome just a set finishing off a team or two! How many times have we asked to see the rest of the Royal Family to be made. Perhaps even just a big box of 8 random new characters not connected in any way. We all know of several gaps that could get filled in using this manner.
I'd like KINGPIN if going Spider-Man
Inhumans if going cosmic
Squirrel Girl if going Avengers
Villains that need making ( choose 3_5 in your head because there are loads ) if it is going X-Men
Playets and or vehicles would be nice. Always down for those. I don't know.... just hope it keeps the flame lit for our scale.
