A lot of people like it, but I feel it's just a depressing movie that doesn't do anything to advance to the X-Men film universe.

Canonically it doesn't even make sense, as it references the original trilogy even though that has been retconned. It also says that mutants haven't been born in 25 years or so, yet in the Days of Future Past epilogue, you can see mutant children running around Xavier's mansion when Wolverine wakes up. The Days of Future Past epilogue takes place in 2023, and Logan takes place in 2029.

So in just 6 years, the X-men disbanded, Xavier became senile, mutants disappeared, and Logan became a crippled old man.

Somebody tell me how that works lol.
