If they were "rare" figures that would cost much more I can understand, more money for same production costs, but it just doesn't make sense. Not that you may not be right of course, it just a bit baffling to think they'd do that.

Yeah, the behavior baffles me also, but I think I'm starting to understand the method of the madness. I also wish they'd put an end to certain exclusives. Con exclusives still make sense to me...but not when the figs are introduced to subsequent 'mass release' lines.
