Super Mario Sunshine-7/10

I wanted to give this game a higher rating. The production values are incredibly good and the graphics have aged beautifully. There's also nostalgia factor and just some brilliant mechanics and art design. The change to a tropical setting and all the details of the world (like how you can get different dialogue from each Pianta in each episode) is amazing.

Sadly though, there were WAY too many times where this game pissed me off to no end, particularly the levels where FLUDD is taken away, or the 8th sprite of each world.

I didn't get all 120 sprites this time, though evidently I did once judging by my third save file. I got to 80 and beat Bowser, so technically I finished it. I might get a few more sprites but I doubt I have the energy to hunt down all those blue coins, another annoyance for me.

Again, really sad to have to give this a 7, but the level designs are just downright sadistic at times. And especially for a game marketed towards children, that's just not cool.
