The other issue I see with shrinking torsos is getting the top and bottom halves to line up perfectly. The shrinking process is more often than not trial and error.
I would only bother to do a new Craig head if I find a really good inexpensive 1/6 version. The Golden Compass has worked for everyone and it's great, but if I do decide to open a store I'd want completely original work to sell. Vort and Avac and everyone else have everything already covered, so I'd rather have a niche specialty store like Glassman.
Do you guys think there's enough interest?
If you guys search "MTF Nathan Drake" and "MTF Han Solo" on Facebook, you can see a few pics of the shrink down heads. I need to take better pics and do some touch ups to the paint, but I'm pretty happy with them.
Shrinking torsos from what I was told is very tricky. Why? Because torsos are not solid pieces has an arm, leg or head. Torsos are normally hollow and the plastic thickness is not proportional to a 4'' figure. This means when you shrink all dimensions are reduced (height, length and thickness) which can lead to a very thin piece. Solid torsos would work ok I guess but not sure they exist in 6''. for example in 4'' those Hydra troops torsos were almost solid. I guess one way to go would be to have a cast of the original torso filled in but that adds a lot of work.
Not impossible but you need need extra work and creativity to overcome this limitation I described above.
