I wanted to create a place to talk about the DC Essentials figures that will be coming out next year. DC Collectibles recently posted a video to their Facebook with the following information about DCE:
The figures will have fewer points of articulation but will have greater range of movement. This is being done to ensure that the figures are sturdier.
The figures won't come with tons of hands and accessories. This is being done to help reduce the price. They also mentioned that fans were contacting them about the wrist pegs breaking when swapping the hands so for now the figures will only come with the hands seen in the package.
The may do deluxe figures later in the line with extra hands and accessories.
The figures will come with basic or "essential" accessories. They specifically mentioned (or we saw at SDCC) Aquaman's trident, Wonder Woman's lasso, Nightwing's escrima sticks, Deathstroke's gun and sword, and Batman's batarang.
The figures won't be limited to DC Rebirth designs. They were specifically asked about an alternate version of Superman and their response was that it was possible due to the DCE figures being designed with plain bodies.
