6000th post!!!!!! I officially never shut up!
This is actually my birthday haul, as I have done for years now I just hoard up everything over the month and wait to open it until my birthday today.
The only three I'll bother going into any detail with here are Seaspray, Jules, and Marcus Fenix. Seaspray is pretty great, he's all around solid and feels like a definitive version of the little guy. It's great that you can plug his weapon onto his torso to give him a gut.
Jules is overall great too but it definitely isn't flawless. The main detractor for the figure is Diamond's decision to sculpt his eyes the way they did, it makes finding one with good paint on the right eye a challenge since he's meant to have this intense glare but it can easily come off as a derpy eye if the paint isn't right. Beyond that the articulation is standard and the sculpt is nice, it's obviously Samuel L Jackson. A personal huge plus in my book is the inclusion of the Big Kahuna burgers and the Sprite, I love when toys come with food that I can pass around to other toys.
I have to give McFarlane props for actually listening to criticism against their earlier color tops figures and stepping up articulation a bit. Marcus still doesn't quite come close to what I would call industry standards of articulation but he has enough to meaningfully alter his pose or at least the pose of his upper body. My main gripe with this figure is that his left hand is so stiff that I can't get him to properly hold his lancer with both hands, if the fingers were more flexible I imagine I could make it work but as it is out of the box I can't get his fingers through the slot between the grip and the chainsaw. It looks good otherwise with the level of sculpt and paint that I'd expect from McFarlane, as a Gears fan I'm happy with it.
