Again, not seeing the justification for the over-reaction.
Yes, if retailers do not order, then the line is dead. But the way you speak is as though it's absolute 100% certain that no one will ever have anything to do with this line ever again, and Mattel has officially declaired it dead.
All they said is that retailers are uncommited to continuing the line. There's nothing to suggest that it's over, and there's nothing to suggest that Mattel isn't still trying. Hell, Hasbro tries for years to get a retailer to commit to a TF exclusive (The Seacons a prime example).
There's nothing to say that six months from now, after all other outlets have completely dropped this line, that Target won't snatch it up as another store exclusive line. That's what they did to the completely failing JLU line. And once everyone else backed out from it, Target snatched it up as the only retailer for it, and now it's a pretty decent success.
There's also nothing to say that Mattel won't go back to the drawing board, and try to overhaul the line from complete scratch (New body designs, accessories, ect), and continue it on in another form, after a year's rest.
So, from this standpoint, I fail to see how this line is dead. (On it's last legs, I won't argue with you on that.)
