It took nearly 18yrs for a classic Sub Mariner to be made & Hasbro finally got it right! Ever since I saw this drawing by the great George Perez of Namor, I have prayed for a figure that resembled this piece of art.
The previous 3 releases have ranged from good, decent & down right atrocious. The TB wave 2 version was alright but lacked an ab crunch & looked like he skipped on leg days. The Walgreens version was good but had on an outfit that didn't last long in the comics nor was it that good. And his headsculpt had too much of the Quicksilver vibe with the hair sculpt. And as for that FF Ronan BAF wave Namor, that abomination will go down in Marvel figure history as one of the top 10 worst figures of a marvel character ever!
Hasbro finally nailed the regal & powerful look of the classic 1st app King of Atlantis with the BP Okeye BAF version. In the comics , this guy has thrown down with just about every MU heavy hitter you can think of. The Hulk, Thor, Ironman, Thing, Hercules, Black Bolt.
The only nitpick I have is they didn't include fists with a character that is known for being a hot headed brawler. That nitpick aside, this is the best version of "classic Namor" IMO & Hasbro need not do any more versions of this figure ever again. I don't see them topping this in any way shape or form.
