Ok, so if you've saw my posts today detailing my thoughts on the reveals and the link to the press pics over at Fwoosh, then you may have guessed that the Thing was my most anticipated Marvel Legend for NYTF. Clearly I was hyping him up in my mind and after seeing the press pic, he's not quite living up to that hype. But after taking some time to cool down, I am liking this figure the more I see it. I think my biggest problem is that I was picturing something similar to the ToyBiz ML Series 2 Thing head sculpt for this new figure. It's just what I think of when I see the Thing. The new figure clearly isn't that but I am starting to really like it. I have a feeling that the press pic isn't do the figure any favors. I disliked the angry head sculpt for the 14" ML Hulk when I saw the press pics but found that I actually liked it once I had it in hand. I would imagine that something similar will happen. I'm very much looking forward to seeing pics of the actual figure instead of something photoshopped along with the alternate head.
Couple extra thoughts:
I'm pleasantly surprised by the new Silver Surfer. This is the first SS I've wanted since the SS in the Fantastic Four Minimates wave from several years ago.
The Sauron BAF is made from the ASM Lizard figure. Hasbro did a custom of Sauron for an SDCC diorama using that same Lizard figure as a base.
