As I said, I suspect that they've had discussions and will need new ideas to let this thing continue to flourish. I wouldn't count them out yet. There will be a charisma vacuum to fill once Cap and Iron Man bow out. Maybe Thor stays, I dunno. I'm cool with a Satana movie because.... reasons. I don't think they could sell it to the general public, though.

And consequently, he is dead. What they planted to make a new Groot has none of those memories or connections, essentially starting over with the same genetic material. The same way that Logan lives on through his daughter. So it's "A" Groot, just not the same guy. Partial credit? His death scene was pretty moving stuff, yes?
