Okay, some backstory:
I've been over at TFW 2005 for a few years and have mostly done Transformer/Star Trek crossover customs. Christmas before last, one of my students, knowing I'm a Trekkie, gave me the Scotty Reaction figure as a gift. A couple of months later, I stumbled on the Retroblasting channel on You Tube, who had a video bemoaning the dearth of Trek playsets in 3 & 3/4" scale back in the 80s.
The wheels started turning in my head and wouldn't stop until a year ago when I started looking for junker Kenner Star Wars vehicles on Ebay. My goal was to make an Enterprise vehicle/playset as it might have been made back in the late 70s/early 80s. In other words, not going for photo realistic detail but something true to the original Kenner aesthetic.
Just in case anybody wants to take a crack at this or is just curious, the parts are as follows:
Saucer Section: A heavily stripped and cut down Millennium Falcon.
Captain's Chair comes from a Y-Wing. (I would put more detail here, but apparently my phrasing sets off some kind of filter.)
Engineering Hull: Rebel Transport with the side cut out. Bow and stern panels were already missing, so I replaced them with two halves of a plastic bowl from Dollar Tree. Sick Bay has a divider wall and the Bio Bed is made from the Falcon's gunner chair. Engineering has the control panels from the transport. A Y-Wing thruster adds the center unit. Transporter pads made of figure stands make up the rest of the interior.
The shuttle bay at the stern contains a shuttle made from a combination of an MLC Mini Rig with some Landspeeder engines.
Nacelles: Y-Wing engines with plastic pipe extensions. They are connected to the hull by the forks I cut off the Falcon.
Whew.
Oh, yeah: Along the way, I had to pick up the rest of the Reaction Trek figures. And then I decided to customize figures for Chekov, Arex, M'Benga, and an Andorian and Tellarite red shirt. (Bonus points if you knew any of them past Chekov.)
Anyway, I hope you enjoy. The first few photos are of some vintage-style box art I mocked up. Look me up on TFW 2005 if you want to check out my other works, but I figured this would fit better here.
