Anyone remember the Luke SWTF that turned into an X-wing? The box art was AWESOME. I remember looking at it, and thinking "man if the toy looks ANYTHING like that, it will be awesome, I mean come on it is an X-wing and Luke rules!". Well the end result was a frail robot compared to the gargantually awesome box art. The X-wing ended up resembling the vintage toy, instead of the redone version that Hasbro used for the Saga collection, the Dagobah versions like the awesome one from 2006. All of these elements combined resulted in one of the most kiddified SWTFs in the line. This is disappointing considering that....
A-it is an X-wing
B-It is Luke...the hero of Star Wars!
Luke and the X-wing ought to deserve better than that. With most SWTFs either the alt mode suffers, or the robot mode, almost never both! The Luke X-wing however, manages to do just that. So do you want a bigger, more detailed, more accurate, better proportioned, X-Wing SWTF? It doesn't need to be Luke, it can be Wedge, or maybe just a variable X-Wing piloted by Luke..as in not having a Luke face.
I'm talking completely new mold. Doesn't have to be the same size. Considering that none of the vehicles in the line are accurately scaled(some are close for the most part), I wouldn't care if this one was the size of the Death Star Darth Vader SWTF, which is my favorite in the line! So for me, I'd want a sleeker, more proportionate alt mode, great, unhindered articulation, no obvious give aways that this is a transforming toy, no huge missle launchers, et al. Basically a better toy overall, this is based on the most popular Star Wars spacefighter and most popular hero figure after all...
