I actually felt Daredevil S2 fell into this trap. One of the more compelling things about S1 was watching him try and balance his doubt over what he did with his need to do it, his belief it needed to BE done and guilt over the repercussions. Then in S2 he was just an arsehole that put his vigilantism ahead of everyone and everything.
