The Palisades Muppet Show line from 2001-06 has DST beat six ways to Sunday, and if you do some hunting on Ebay you can pick up most of the figures for a good deal. Maybe a little more expensive than Diamond's but when you see the quality difference you know it's worth it.

While I'm not glad the line got canceled, I do agree that the Palisades figures (and environments) were markedly superior.
