Long overdue with Dani....now where's my damn Super Skrull!

In short, Herc is very cool.

Not so short:

Brand new sculpt that features hyper-vascular torso/arms. The veins are exaggerated and popping, a consistent feature from fists to delts. The fig sports the largest arms of all the plus size male molds (so far, Beast looks like he will be larger). Pictures lead me to believe that the arms might be a part borrowed from Omega Red. But on direct comparison, Herc’s arms are of a different mold and noticeably larger than Red’s limbs. The Herc fig also has this smart shoulder design that allows for greater range. The top of the delt/shoulder and the traps are one mold creating a much more natural looking musculature and improved function (IMO). The leather pants he’s wearing are actually tooled to look like real leather. There’s a shin/boot swivel, worn looking knee pads, and the boots with straps are cool (however, annoyingly painted the same color as part of the pants making it hard to distinguish where one ends and the other begins). His ‘Herc Harness’ is also adorned with a completely tooled and badass “Lion of Olympus” belt buckle. The harness looks good enough and holds his mace and sword well enough. Speaking of the weapons, they’re accurate to his recent and short-lived book appearance, as can be said for the details of the entire outfit. The paints are strong with minute details like body hair. The head sculpt is one of the best ever. Really. A tooled beard along with a tooled head guard, all topped off with the perfect sardonic (eyebrow raised) expression on Herc’s face. They really went the extra mile.

The only drawback…he’s smallish. I stood Herc next to Ares and not only is the God of War taller, but his arms are freakishly larger. Additionally, the harness rides up. I thought about gluing the codpiece (a word I never thought I’d use), but that feels like a bad idea for a number of reasons. But, none of this is a deal breaker. Herc is my early dark horse for fav fig of 2019.

Edit: forgot to add that Herc's wrist guards are also pretty cool. Gold plastic was used instead of paint. For further clarification, I was suggesting gluing the codpiece portion of the harness to the pelvis of the fig. Which sounds worse each time I mention it, but it would prevent the harness from riding too high. One last mini gripe (3 minor flaws total), Herc skips leg day apparently. The legs are well done, but comically skinny. A top heavy fig that tracks a little small for Herc. Most won't even notice the proportional things I mention or care about the aesthetics.

Double Edit: I foresee many pics on the web featuring Herc ‘body builder’ poses. Which fits his personality, but Herc is most notably a warrior and adventurer of legend. A demigod.
